Peas, Carrots and Graham Cracker Houses

Today we got out of school early for bad weather. To celebrate, Somer and I made a graham cracker "gingerbread" house. She really had fun eating the "lumber". We also watched It's a Wonderful Life. Hudson slept through everything, but woke up with quite an appetite and ate a whole jar of peas and a whole jar of carrots.

Santa Claus is Coming to Town!

I took the kids to get their Christmas pictures taken at Mary Dunaway's studio this week. It was not much fun as both kids were grouchy but we did get some cute pictures. Happy Holidays!

Our First Snowman

Sunday, November 30th it snowed in Shelbina. It was the first of the season and Hudson's first snow ever. Somer loves it so she and Michael bundled up and headed out to play. They built Somer's first snowman and had a snowball fight. She had a blast! It was awesome watching her and Michael play like they were both kids. At some points, I'm not sure who was having more fun. When they got inside as Michael was taking off her boots, he asked her if she wanted to do it again sometime and she replied, "yeah Daddy, right now!" Grams got her a sled for Christmas so I think this is going to be a very fun winter!

Tooth Monkey

Hudson has two teeth. The day after Thanksgiving, we found one tooth on Hudson's lower jaw. The next day there were two!

I was totally taken by suprise. I knew they were coming soon by the amount of slobbering and chewing he has been doing, but I was surprised to reach in a feel a sharp point sticking through his gums. He is such a good baby he only fusses about it at bed time.

Thanksgiving 2008

Our Thanksgiving was quite fun. We celebrated at Papa Tom's house with all the family. Somer and Hudson played with their cousins while mommy and daddy visited with relatives. Somer is not always the best at sharing toys, but her and Elliot still had a blast playing with tractors. Meanwhile, Hudson and Drake worked on their wrestling skills in the living room floor. It is going to be very fun watching those two grow up together. After the Gill's we went to my mom and dad's for fried chicken. Somer slept the whole time we were there but Papa Frank got to feed Hudson some "real food"! Overall we had a very pleasant day!

Hudson Rolls!

The end of September, Hudson started rolling over. I got his first few tries on film. He was mid-roll when I started filming. It was taken on Sept. 25th. He is very good at getting from his back to his belly, but can't quite do it the other way around. He has also lost a lot of hair since he was born. I forget how much he had until I look at pictures.

Somer, Hudson and Daddy

This is my first blog! I can't think of a better thing to post about other than my family. My two beautiful children and my husband. My little girl is a ball of fire. She is contantly coming up with new things to say and do. Last night she wanted to wear a dew rag like her daddy so Michael put one on her. We took some pictures and her little curls hanging out the back was the best part. I also had to play 'campfire' last night when she made a "fire" out of a pile of mismatched socks. Our baby boys is the complete opposite. He is mellow and calm, always happy and smiling. The only time he cries is when he is hungry, tired or needs a diaper change. He has just started on vegetables this week and its not going so great. He loves cereal and peas, but he could do without the greenbeans and squash mommy tried to feed him.
